Dr. Lieu is a physiatrist who is fellowship trained in sports medicine & interventional pain management / spine care.
Dr. Lieu’s clinical practice is devoted to the comprehensive care of the whole patient with a focus on spine, joint, muscle, tendon, ligament, and peripheral nerve disorders. He is proficient in performing advanced, minimally-invasive procedures under fluoroscopic and/or ultrasound guidance for the spine.
Dr. Lieu performs electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS) for the accurate diagnosis of muscle and/or nerve disorders. He has a special interest in regenerative medicine, neuromuscular ultrasound, and medical education.
Dr. Lieu attended medical school at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan, AL.
Dr. Lieu completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare in Pomona, CA. During his residency, he was introduced to the foundations of interventional pain procedures by Drs. Moradian and Vartanian.
Dr. Lieu received fellowship training in interventional pain management/spine care and sports medicine at Orthopaedic & Spine Specialists/OSS Health under the guidance of expert interventionalists, including Fellowship Director Dr. Michael B. Furman, and colleagues.
